Optimized basis expansion as an extremely accurate technique for solving time-independent Schr\"odinger equation

    Get PDF
We use the optimized trigonometric finite basis method to find energy eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of the time-independent Schrodinger equation with high accuracy. We apply this method to the quartic anharmonic oscillator and the harmonic oscillator perturbed by a trigonometric anharmonic term as not exactly solvable cases and obtain the nearly exact solutions.Comment: 11 pages, 4 figure

This study aims to examine the organizational agility from perspective of faculty directors in Shahid Chamran University of Ahwaz. The methodology of study was combination of concurrent kind. Survey method used for quantitative part and content analysis method used for qualitative part. Participants included managers, deputies of faculties and heads of departments of Shahid Chamran University of Ahwaz including 92 subjects. The tools in this study were questionnaires and interviews and in quantitative part, two researcher-made questionnaires of agility capabilities and agility enablers distributed among the statistical samples. The reliability of both questionnaires measured using Cronbach Alpha and the value was 0.92 and 0.74. In qualitative part, purposive sampling used and a semi-structured interview done by eight subjects including managers, deputies of faculties and head of departments of Ahwaz Shahid Chamran University. The interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The findings showed that the average of respondents about status of capabilities and enablers in all elements was less than expected and information technology of enabler’s elements is in desirable status. According to qualitative findings, variables of capabilities and enablers are not in desirable status. Agility stimulusis the same change identified in the university. Changes of technology, student’s requirements, complex completion of environment and financial constraints had realized in four parts. The necessity of agility in education, communication, structure and human parts had approved based on stimulus identification in the university. The necessity of agility in education, communication, structure and human departments have approved based on identifying the stimulus in the university. Finally, the factors leading to agility in the university identified in four departments of management, technology, motivational and financial factors. Keywords: Organizational Agility, Capabilities, Enablers, Stimulu

Comparing the validity of EEG in epileptic patients with and without activation methods

Navigation and interaction in a real-scale digital mock-up using natural language and user gesture

    Get PDF
This paper tries to demonstrate a very new real-scale 3D system and sum up some firsthand and cutting edge results concerning multi-modal navigation and interaction interfaces. This work is part of the CALLISTO-SARI collaborative project. It aims at constructing an immersive room, developing a set of software tools and some navigation/interaction interfaces. Two sets of interfaces will be introduced here: 1) interaction devices, 2) natural language (speech processing) and user gesture. The survey on this system using subjective observation (Simulator Sickness Questionnaire, SSQ) and objective measurements (Center of Gravity, COG) shows that using natural languages and gesture-based interfaces induced less cyber-sickness comparing to device-based interfaces. Therefore, gesture-based is more efficient than device-based interfaces.FUI CALLISTO-SAR

The Burr XII-Burr XII Distribution: Mathematical Properties and Characterizations

    Get PDF
We introduce a new continuous distribution called the Burr XII-Burr XII distribution. Some of its properties are derived. The method of maximum likelihood is used to estimate the unknown parameters. An application is provided with details to illustrate the importance of the new. The new model provides adequate fits as compared to other related models with smallest values for A-IC, B-IC, CA-IC and HQ-IC. Characterization results are presented based on two truncated moments, hazard function as well as based on the conditional expectation

Advanced Storage and Retrieval Policies in Automated Warehouses

    Get PDF
Warehouses are key components in supply chain. They facilitate the product flow from production to distribution. The performance of supply chains relies on the performance of warehouses and distribution centers. Being able to realize short order delivery lead times, in retail and ecommerce particularly, is important for warehouses. Efficient and responsive storage and retrieval operations can help in realizing a short order delivery lead time. Additionally, space scarcity has brought some companies to use high-density storage systems that increase space usage in the warehouse. In such storage systems, most of the available space is used for storing products, as little space is needed for transporting loads. However, the throughput capacity of high-density storage systems is typically low. New robotic and automated technologies help warehouses to increase their throughput and responsiveness. Warehouses adapting such technologies require customized storage and retrieval policies fit for automated operations. This thesis studies storage and retrieval policies in warehouses using several common and emerging automated technologies
